saturday

I cannot catch the sunrise. My back is to the breaking light. Already it is light outside... daylight has caught up to the time change. It's brisk- my hand is numb where I clutch the camera. A winter jacket is a must again. Lots of cars and people for an early Saturday. I thought it would be quieter because of the school break. It's not.

Could be a ridge in France...

The HS dominates the scene below. Of all the structures it is the largest and most visible.
Way, way in the beyond wow! the GWB!

an unexpected exotic thicket of bamboo. It multiplies and multiplies. I hope this is what they wanted.

first forsythia

Why it froze into a waterfall...

A gaggle of guys

The Ridgewood Cafe is a perfect I spy place. No matter where you look there is a cool object to catch the eye

and to read

and it's a great place to sit and do the crossword, and of course to have a cup of coffee, and just chat.. the weekday crew is missing-
Gene is off on a train adventure today

I must ask the REAL
Ridgewood Walker if she changed her route. Or, maybe this is where she always goes.

O, Henrietta! Good thing I saw you from the Cafe this morning! How wonderful for you that you are are opening the Daydream Spa in Woodcliff Lake. How sad for us that we will no longer have your great salon in our town. Others have said what you say- it's just too expensive to be here. Alas! Your Ridgewood friends will miss you. Goodbye Amber-
Good Luck!

My hearty, hearty friends, look how glorious you are!

You survived a snow mountain piled on top of you 14 days ago.

Splendid!

Could be the city- it's our bustling town.

Kids are so lucky. Wait till next Saturday when Citizens hands these out!

Congratulations Band, on your beautiful new truck.
Wonderful paint job Norm Forrest- it's virtually glistening!

friday

Happy Birthday Josephine!
A few minutes late (3), and the whole morning routine changes.
I love knowing the birds are up with me. The sound of their morning worksong is so cheerful. Even though I can't see them, they surround me. It is brighter every day, and today is nice.
My hands could use gloves, and good thing I wore the down jacket.
Just as I get to the corner 2 power walkers intercept me.
They are not just power walkers- they are Maura and Janine- marathoners!
How I admire them. They run every morning with Steve. They are not "40 day this-or-that." They are real runners- real athletes. On their off day they walk. They know the (real) Ridgewood Walker- Eileen, and they have not seen her lately either.
Lucky me today- I make tremendous time keeping up with their good pace.
We are in town tout suite.. Go ladies! Say hi to Steve. He takes only this one day off...

Sunrising at Greek to Me

The Bakery is out, and the Tulip Cafe is coming. I'm sad to see the Bakery go,
they were always so nice there.

Terry's rainbow sky

Lamps and buses- ..these are a few of my favorite things

the sun casts a beautiful hue on the building. It is extraordinary how beautiful it looks in the morning glow.

I have discovered why they let the old clock go....

...there is a new one in the courtyard. It has 2 faces and is a beauty.
How will the kids be on time if this is the time they go by?
Time change happened weeks ago
The newer clocks do not appear to be up to the task.
Perhaps they know the kids are checking their cell phones

Leftovers

The cars are caged for security.

Happy Birthday Josephine!
